Bonus for Admin staff
« on: December 10, 2012, 03:46:51 PM »
My physical therapy company is looking for a way to implement a semi annual bonus for their admin staff.  We have tried to utilize AR days but have found that it has too many variables.  The owner is looking for tangible evidence that the office staff is doing their job and doing it correctly... does anyone have any suggestions on what we can base the bonus structure on or how to calculate a bonus based on some tangible factor?

You could use the daysheet at the end of the day and check for accuracy (notes entered correctly, charges correct, diagnosis correct, co-pays collected, patient re-scheduled).  That would indicate that each member of the staff has done their job to the best of their abilities (sometimes you CAN'T do all those things at 100% because of the patients' participation or not).

Most companies base bonus's on weekly average rate of pay, I think that's pretty fair.  A bonus should never be expected so really whatever is done is appropriate. If you compensate weekly earnings in other ways you could create an average weekly salary and then base bonus off of that.
