speech therapy

I do medical billing for internal medicine and chiropractic I was asked to do billing for a speech therapist is it similar to what i have been doing or is it very different and will be hard to learn?

Speech therapy is not difficult in my opinion.  There are only a couple of cpt codes that they use.  Not all insurances cover it, or it is only covered for certain diagnoses.  A lot of times authorization may be required but it's the same as in Chiropractic.  Auths are either given for a time period or a specific number of visits.

I love billing for speech therapy!  Michelle is right on the money with what she wrote.  ASHA.org is a great resource.  They have tons of information about billing and codes.
