Percentage billing in Florida
« on: March 08, 2017, 11:17:26 AM »
Does anyone know the law regarding billing a percentage to providers in Florida. I can't find a statute on this. What I read on the OIG is that NY & Florida bars percentage billing for Medicaid claims. But again can't find actual statute on this.

According to the OIG this is if the billing also does the coding. Which I do not. I can't up code because I don't do the coding as stated in my contract. NY medicaid is taking back millions of dollars from providers for this and I just got a Fl. client and long and behold there might be a conflict with billing a percentage here.

My understanding is that FL is also a no % billing state.  I don't have anything to point you to other than that I know that it is considered fee splitting in FL.
