Physical Therapy 30 day waiting period
« on: June 07, 2016, 04:26:03 PM »
Please help educate me on the 30 day therapy waiting period.  My provider provides PT to clients in rehab facilities, adult day cares, etc.

We have never had a claim deny for that reason but she states that if I patient is being seen for therapy at one place, they have to wait 30 days after being discharged in order for her to see them.

Thank you guys :)

I have not heard of this.  I know the re-evaluation must be done after 30 days, and the therapy must start within 30 days of the dr's script.  But I haven't heard of waiting 30 days in between therapy.

I would ask her where she heard this, and to provide documentation that actually says this, because I also have never heard of this requirement. Lots of times providers are "told" things that just aren't factual, and they just assume that they are.
