Smell test
« on: June 15, 2009, 11:06:01 AM »
Hi all,
I have looked everywhere but I cannot find a current code for the neuro smell and taste identification test.  It used to be 92700 but that is no longer used.  Can anyone help?
Thanks,
JM

I found the following in an article:

"The latest article from March 2009 directed providers to bill the Epley Maneuver, effective January 1, 2009 with CPT code 95992, and to discontinue use of CPT code 92700."

Hope that is what you're looking for.

Thank you for your response but no, that is not it.  There is an actual Brief Smell Identification Test which can aid in the early detection of Alzheimer's Disease due to loss of ability to detect odor.  I will look elsewhere.
Thanks,
