: Direct Mailings to Dr and Office Manager
: TxJFP May 02, 2011, 05:32:27 PM
Hello all,

I am thinking about the direct mailings, but I noticed in the "12 Marketing Strategies..." that the sample letters were addressed to the Dr. Now, should I contact the Physician's office to get the name of the office manager? Or, could I address the letter as Dear Dr. Green and Manager? Or Dear Dr. Green and Sir/Madam?

Could someone please lend me a hand here on how I should write the beginning. I have everything else ready, just contradicting myself on how I should address it.

Thanks,

Jesse JPBS

So far I have addressed them to the doctor.  I have been debating on addressing them to the office manager as well.  I really didn't see any guidance to this so I have split my marketing campaign in half and am doing it both ways.  This way I can see which one is more effective.

I learned a long time ago that the office manager has a lot of pull and never exclude him/her. I try to get their names directly but if I can't I will address the mailing to the physician and staff, this way it sends a message right away that I'm not trying to replace anyone.

If you have the name of the office manager I would go with that as well.  If you don't, then the dr's name is all you got to go with.  You could address it generically to "office manager" but not all offices have one, and it seems very impersonal.
