: Options for checking Medicare claim status
: thatcuteblonde May 06, 2009, 01:45:37 PM
I've seen info on Google that Medicare offers a system to check claim status electronically (FISS via DDE?) but I can't seem to find where to get it or sign up for it. Some other companies offer Medicare claim status but they charge for it. Does anyone know exactly what the process is for obtaining access to Medicare claim status without having to call? Everything I've found seems to be a how to guide for once you've already got it and I've got so many claims in need of rebilling and corrections, I could spend the next ten years dealing with the automated system.  :(

Where are you located? Cigna Government Services has teamed with Vision Share and another company that allows you to check benefits, and claims status on their website, but there is a fee. We pay 350 a year for unlimited usage. They are actually supposed to include checking for Same or Similar Equipment eventually which is great for DME!!

I was wondering the same thing about checking claims on-line.  I am located in NY.  Is there really no website for Medicare that supplies this information, as other insurance plans have?  www.mymedicare.gov appears to be only for members, not for providers.  I found a site called medicareeligibility.com, but it reroutes me to cortexedi.com - should I trust them?  Oh, and that also has a fee.
