Hi Diane,

I have worked with CollaborateMD and I like that software pretty much. Are you just trying to get a general feedback about the software? If yes, I would rate it 4/5.

Regards
Sriram

CollaborateMD is one of the ones I have used and I didn't like it that much because there were too many steps to enter stuff, especially charges (at least compared to what I'm using now).  Also, if I remember correctly they use RelayHealth as their clearinghouse which I think is one of the worst.  If you have issues (and you will with them) you can't call Relay Health directly, you have to call  CollaborateMD and open a ticket with them and hope someone calls you back in a couple of days.
It has been about a year and half or two years since I have used them but that is how I remember things.  Maybe Sriram or someone else that uses them can confirm that or let you know if that is not the case anymore.

Honestly, I did not feel the charge entry process or any other process for that matter, to be that difficult as I got used to it and was able to see my staff making as good production as with any other billing system. They are currently using Gateway EDI or Capario (at the option of the customer) and we have not found any issues with the clearinghouse. Of course, we cannot contact the clearinghouse directly as that will be a contract that we have to get into, when we purchase CollaborateMD. However, CollaborateMD's support is comparatively good with regards to closing tickets and following up with us on the status.

We started with CollaborateMD only in August 2012. So, the issues that GuruMedBill has highlighted were existing prior to that as said. I would suggest you to request for a demo for you to see for yourself.

Sriram,

Thanks for the update.  It is interesting they use the exact same two clearinghouses as Kareo.

Why is that interesting.. are those two clearinghouses proprietary to certain vendors/software?

I just find it interesting because there are over three dozen clearinghouses out there and they both use the exact same two.  Not just one of the two but both of the same two and only the same two.  I'm not trying to create a conspiracy or anything like that I just find it interesting.

Hello, Diane.  I have been using CollaborateMD (CMD) since March of this year.  I think it is a pretty good system.  I have not had any major issues with them. I did a ton of research on systems and more demo than I would like to recall before choosing them.  I was using Kareo prior to that and just about anything has to be better than them!! On a ten point scale, I would rate Kareo a 2.5/10!  CMD's customer service is much, much, much better.  So far, I have not run into a function I needed they could not perform.  The reporting feature of CMD is really good.  That's what sold me on the system.  And they actually listen to their end user.  They have an ideaExchange where end users give feedback and suggestions about the features and functionality of the system and CMD actually listens AND has made changes based on those recommendations. When you sign up you are given an implementation person which gets you setup and trained on the system.  There is no additional charge for this service either, which I though was pretty cool.  Personally, I like webinar type training as well.  With that I can do things as my own pace.  I really wanted to get out of Kareo fast and thought having to work with someone in this structure would slow me down, but it went very well. The one feature I think they really need work on is their payer agreement process.  Their clearinghouse is RelayHealth.  I do not have a choice in clearinghouses because I use their cloud based system. But even with that said, I would still give them a pretty good rating.  Sorry to have written so much on this.  I just remember when I was looking to switch from Kareo, it was really hard to find honest info that didn't seem like the person writing it was being paid to do so.  But anyway, I would rate CMD at 8-8.5/10.  Hope this has been helpful.
