Hi, I am wondering if anyone has heard of or used Medlook Online.  I am just finishing up a billing class and am in need of guidance, I appreciate any information that anyone can give me. Thank you in advance!

Never heard of it.  Just be careful, the free ones usually have limitations.  They can be good for someone just starting out but switching down the road can be a pain.

Hi, thanks for your response! It's not free though, it's $50 a month for unlimited claims.  I checked with a clearinghouse that I want to use and found out that they're ok and they haven't heard anything bad about them.  I do appreciate your help! ... and I love this site! I have learned more in two days of reading posts than I have in the almost 3 weeks of doing research online.  You all are so very helpful and knowledgeable!

You want to find out if that fee is per client or all inclusive. Again, can't stress enough how important it is to get a software capable of growing with your billing company because conversions are so time consuming and costly..never seen one that went smooth!  Get the best software for the long haul or you will end up regretting it.

Hi Linda,

Everything is completely online and I don't have to purchase any software.  They told me that it's $50 per user. So I would be able to add as many Providers as I want, but if I have someone working for me they would have to have their own ID and it would cost another $50 for them. I think he called it 'per seat'.  He told me all updates/upgrades are free because it's online and when they update their system there's nothing I have to do or pay for.  I worked with their demos and found it to be very basic, not a lot of bells and whistles, but definitely easy to navigate through. As far as conversions, are you just talking about if I wanted to switch over to something more advanced and, for lack of a better term, has all the bells and whistles?

Yes, a conversion would be if you wanted to move to a more advanced program. Unfortunately I've seen far too many times a billing company starting out and watching costs, they go with the lower end systems due to ease of use, price, etc only to find later on it's not quite simple to convert.. in fact..conversions can be downright MESSY and time consuming along with costly.  That's why I say to be sure you get a program that's going to be with you for the long haul. Also what might seem like "bells/whistles" to someone just starting out, might be a necessity for another.

I never heard of Medlook.  I use Office Ally for a clearinghouse which only charges if the bulk of claims are Medicare.  My software program is Medisoft.  I found both to be great in my business.
