Hi, I'm a single mom and I just graduated with a certification in Medical Billing. I have no clue where to start on starting my own medical billing business and would highly appreciate advice. I need to start ASAP so that I can give my son the life he deserves. Thanks in advance!!!

Well from my past experience when I first got my certificate..I tried to start my own business and it was very hard because most office let "corporate" do their billing, or they have a billing company..I had to take on a job at a hospital first to get my foot in the door.. I just landed my own first billing client and it has been two years since I got my certificate. You may be lucky though. just keep being persistent and you will succeed. Everyone on here is very, very helpful.

I have always found in the past that it is easier to start manage and succeed in a business that you have first worked in.  I recommend finding a position with a Medical Billing Service first.  That's just my opinion but look at it this way.  It gives you the chance to hone your billing skills and see from the inside how a Billing Service works.  You can pick up on good traits and bad traits of the business.

Maybe you are in more of a rush but that is the way I would approach it.
