: Encrypting Files for Transmission
: rachel April 06, 2009, 05:10:07 PM
Hi,

I am new to your website and well as the business and had a question in regards to encrypted files.  I have a dr who wants to scan and email me his patient info, would this fall under needing to be encrypted as well?  I generally get my info faxed but he doesn't have one so I am having him mail his initial sign ups to start with because I am unsure how to handle!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Love your sight, will be ordering some of your materials shortly!

You have to purchase an encryption program or you can use a service such as SafetySend.
How the key works is you get a key and the provider gets a key (you can't share it), the email is encrypted using whatever encryption software you have and the provider reads the email by de-crypting it using his key.
It's not as complex as it sounds, but I like Safetysend beter and they have different levels of service to choose from.
