credentialing
« on: September 09, 2008, 03:15:32 AM »
Should credentialing be included the percented charged for full practice management or a separate charge? I live in south TX in the Rio Grande Valley, what would be a fair amont for credentialing alone?

There is not a straight answer for this.  Again, if I'm trying to get a provider to sign and doing a little credentialing for him will push him over the edge then I agree to do it as part of our contract, but I let him know there is usually an additional charge.  If I am going to charge for credentialing I usually charge an hourly rate.  Some forms I know exactly how much is involved and I have a flat rate for them.  For example I can do an individual Medicare app for $75.
