: Collection Agency Recommendations
: mandaree23 February 05, 2018, 02:26:34 PM
I am in the process of looking for a new collection agency for our Orthotics and Prosthetics group.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  I've worked with MPB in the past and would just like other options to look at as well.

Thank you!

We have tried several different avenues for collections.  The best we have every had by far is working with Transworld.  They are a national company.  The rep we use is Dick Neary.  You can reach him at dick.neary@transworldsystems.com or 941-350-9918.  We do not get anything for referring people, they are just really good so we refer.  But tell him we sent you, he does like to hear where you got his info from.  They have a different approach to collections and it is VERY effective.

"Transworld" that is what we use. But we are not happy with them. They haven't collected anything for us so far. it's been over one year now. We are using them because of eclinicalworks refer them to us and they have integration with eclinicalworks platform.

Wow, I am very surprised.  We have a great collection rate with them.  Do you have a rep that you deal with?  I would think that they would be willing to work with you to see why the collection rate is not good with you since their nationwide average is high.

No, its true. We actually ended up losing more money. Because transworld charge you $10 upfront for each patient no matter what. We contacted our rep. she is just telling me stories every time that doesn't even make sense. So we started doing our collection in-house only. Sending statements and calling the patient.Believe it or not, we actually got good collection rate.

I am looking for an agency which will charge after they collect from an individual patient. I know it doesn't make sense. but it seems fair from our point of view.

We have used MANY collection agencies that charge after but they never collected ANYTHING.....EVER....  We were so happy when Transworld came along.  At first the pricing was different.  We had providers that didn't like it.  But our rate of collection is super high for each provider that uses it so now we wouldn't go with anything else.  Maybe it's because of our rep.  We've got a good one.  So sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience.  I don't know of anyone else to recommend.

Hi we use a collection agency called Hospital Receivables. Their standard fee for bad debt is 25% and they dont charge anything upfront. Our contact person is Barbara Foltz (972)406-6703 out of Texas. We're a Family Practice and this is who we use I have nothing but good things to say about them.

My clients like to use local small business as we have a lot better success going local. For larger balances we will use an attorney. My clients all have P&P which outlines how we deal with patient balances.
