Title: HCPCS Code for Finger Splint
Post by: Michele on July 26, 2010, 01:55:42 PM
Hey Guys,

Now I need a little assistance!  I have had a request for a little help with a HCPCS code.  The old code for finger splint, L3911, was deleted in 2010.  There seems to be some confusion on what code is supposed to be used to replace it.  I did some research and based on DME Jurisdiction D, the new code should be A4466.  But from what I can tell the A4466 is not covered by DMERC.  Isn't a finger splint covered by DMERC?  Am I just finding the wrong info?  I also found codes Q4049, S8450 and S8452, but can't find anything concrete.  Anyone out there with info?

Michele

Michelle, try S8450 with your correct modifier if it is a prefab splint
or for a static try Q4049

Not
The a4466 is correct, and is non-covered
