Title: Cardiology AHHHHHH
Post by: amylynn99 on July 18, 2014, 09:37:37 AM
Can somebody please shed some light on this area for me?? I just started working for a group of cardiologists and they are ordering and reading echos but the outside lab tech is performing or they go to the hospital. Our equipment is not set up yet so our cardio docs either go across the street to the hospital to do the echo or they have someone come in office POS 11. My question is say Dr Smith and Dr Ted are the cardiologists and Dr Smith orders the patient for an echo and Dr Ted reads it do I bill Dr Smith as the ordering? I know the modifier will be 93306,26 for read and 93306,TC for hospital correct?? Please help this is a mess since our Docs dont do the whole thing from start to finish. Thank you!!!

What you explained below sounds correct.  If Dr Smith orders he would go in Box 17 and Dr Ted would go in as the rendering provider.
