Question
Hi,

we bill for chiropractor's,getting them paid is the hardest part of our practice w/certain insurance companies.  MPN, its a NY government ins plan.  We are out of network and we send in the bills along w/notes, we have over 40k outstanding and they said almost nothing is in their file to process.  We have sent 4x certified mail they said that if we send it in bulk most of the time it is discarded.  Should we take this to the ins commissioner?  Please help!!

Susan

Answer
Hi Susan,

We too bill MPN for many chiropractors both PAR & Non-PAR.  We never attach notes.  Sometimes they request info and only then does the DC send in anything.  Iím wondering if all of the additional paperwork from the notes is what is causing your claims to be Ďlostí since we do not have a problem with our claims being received.  Occasionally we have 1 or 2 that we have to resub.  Since you are out of network with MPN the patientís end up paying out of pocket correct?  Iím just wondering why the outstanding balance is affecting your office so much when the claims are mostly applied to deductibles and usually little if anything is paid.  I would try submitting claims in smaller batches without any attachments.

Good luck
