Hi, I am new here
« on: November 04, 2008, 02:48:00 PM »
I found this great forum today and wanted to say hello to everyone.

Me and my wife own a Medical Billing Company here in Texas, we started in July 2007, but we didn't get our first client until August 2008, a proctologist in central Florida.

I have worked for Insurance Companies in the Medical Claims Departments since 1984.  My wife has worked at both Insurance companies and Hospitals since 1999.  My sister has worked for Medical Billing Companies since 1988.

Thanks for having me here as a member.

We are glad you found us.  We had a hard time finding help or just others to bounce things off of when we started which is why we started our website and forum.

Congrats on your first client.  That is the hardest part of getting started.

Hi Brian,
What part of Texas do you have your business?  I have a home in central Texas, more exact Killeen.  Currently, I am residing at Ft. Irwin, CA but will be returning to Killeen next summer.  I am in the process of starting my own medical billing business.  I noticed that you mentioned that you didn't get your first client for about a year.  What did you find to be the most difficult part of gaining your first client?  This is the reason I ask what part of Texas you are in, trying to feel the market out and wondering how difficult it will be to get my first client!  I plan to specialize in mental health since I have worked for a private practice for over five years so I know a lot about the field.  I am hoping that I will be able to network through the providers that I already know, but I know it will still be difficult.  If you don't mind me asking, what methods have you used to market and how were you able to finally get your first client?  Any help sure would be appreciated.  Also, what practice management software are you using?  I am looking into DAQbilling.

Lesley :)
