Tri Care ID card

On the Tricare ID card which number do I enter when filling out the info to send to insurance? The sponsor is the patient's husband and usually I write in the benefits number listed on the back of the card but after four years they suddenly told me it was denied because I had the wrong number! Patients SS# or Sponsors SS# or benefits number or DoD ID number? I am confused..

I get it!  It was nice when it was just the sponsor's SSN but I get why that isn't the best option for the patients.  The ID cards are so confusing now.  The DoD ID number is the correct one.
