Line Note
« on: May 01, 2020, 05:48:37 AM »
In our software, for each line item there's a column labeled "Line Note".  I was just wondering what you put in that field.  Right now, I've been putting the drug and amount given to the pt but didn't know if you use it for anything else.  These are injections.

TIA

This is something specific to your software.  You didn't mention what software system you are using.  But I think there isn't a 'right' answer.  It's what you want to use it for.

Sorry about that.  We are using Kareo.

Have you checked the Kareo manual to see what the definition of that field is?  I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with Kareo but I found this:  https://helpme.kareo.com/01_Kareo_PM/05_Codes/NOC_(Not_Otherwise_Classified)_Codes/Add_NOC_(Not_Otherwise_Classified)_Code_Description

You have two ways to do NDC codes in Kareo.  One is the line note, the other is to put it into the master file for the medication.  We use the code ADD in the Ref Code box (to the right of the Line note box) for medications.  If you click the drop down arrow on Ref Code, you'll see other choices for that box.  Right now, we are not using any of the other choices.

We're also dumping Kareo in about a month, after 15 or 20 years (our ID number is in the low 4 digits - tech support always thinks I'm giving them the wrong number when I tell them what it is).

I use Kareo for one of my remote billing jobs, and we use the ADD also, but only for J codes for drugs such as Kenalog and Depo-Medrol, and for Flu/Pneumonia vaccine descriptions.
