Want to get back to coding

Hi, I am new to the forum. I graduated in 2017 with an associates for medical coding and reimbursement. I put my resumes out but I only had 2 interviews and 1 offered me a job, i took it. The problem is, it is for medical billing, there is no coding what so ever involved. I never got certified for coding. I want to get back to the coding, but am unsure of how to do it. Is there a course I should take or should i get an updated ICD 10 book and a practice book to prepare for the test? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Michele:
Did your degree qualify you for the coding exam?  There are always changes, but there really haven't been any big changes since 2017.  Are you just looking for a refresher before you take the test?  If so, I would go with the practice tests.

Yes, i am just looking for a refresher before i take the test. I know there are always changes, that is why I asked, just wasn't sure which way to go. Are the practice tests online or do they need to be purchased? Thank you!!

Michele:
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with any coding course enough to refer.  :(  I was hoping someone else might make a recommendation.

If you Google "AAPC CPC practice test" or "CPC practice test", you should be able to find some for free.
