Medicare Facility billing
« on: August 10, 2021, 08:10:07 PM »
I probably have a dumb question, but I'm asking anyway!  : )

I'm new to Medicare facility billing(UB-04 or 837I) and I only bill Medicare for outpatient/office services in California(837P). I've been asked if Medicare has a fee schedule for facility billing in the same way I have downloaded for the part B , physician fee schedule.   If there isn't a fee schedule for facility billing, how do we know what's Medicare allowable  to prevent billing at lower rate ?  I've searched online and couldn't find anything.

Thank you

Michele

The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked!   ;D

With that being said, I'm not aware of the part A fee schedule being available online either.  You didn't mention what services you are billing for, or what state.  There is a fee schedule for Opioid Treatment Programs, and PPS programs.  But I don't see a "Part A" fee schedule.

Thank you Michelle!

Of course I left out the important detail in my question, duh! : )
It would be for residential treatment,  Room & Board, Detox just to name a few.  We provide mental health outpatient and residential services in California.
I will definitely check the fee schedules you mentioned because I couldn't find a thing.

Thanks a lot
Sonia
