How to find Medical Billing Clients
« on: January 18, 2022, 04:54:24 PM »
Hello
Greetings of the day!

I am trying to open new venture in healthcare industry as outsource service provider for Medical Billing. We are facing difficulties finding our first client,

I have tried digital marketing, local newspapers and magazine, Cold calls and emails. We are trying to get our first lead from last 3 months yet there is still no luck.

Can anyone help me to close my first client? I really appreciate any guidance you have for me.

Thanks & Regards.
Shubham P.

1.  Where are you trying to establish the business - City?  State?

2.  What medical experience do you have that would contribute to being a good biller?

This is a question that has been asked/answered many a time on this forum. My first piece of guidance would be to search this site for previous questions/replies on this topic, there is a lot of good advice.

Next, what RCM services are you offering, and are they competitive with your targeted area for both services offered/pricing?

If I see a billing company that says they will only charge X%, and I know that the work involved means they should really be charging MORE than X%, I have to wonder about what kind of service I will actually be getting.

To somewhat parrot Richard, what experience do you have that puts you ABOVE other billers/billing companies?

Things I wouldn't continue doing: cold calls and emails. As a practice manager, there is nothing I hate more than cold calls for services, and emails for services. The cold calls are answered and told not to call again, and the emails go into the Trash folder. If I want a service for my office, I will research and call companies on my own.

Best advice: I have often found that getting your first client is all about who you know, and who that person knows. Word of mouth is the best way to get clients, many times. Every successful billing company I have ever worked for got their first client by knowing someone, and once they proved themselves, they went back to that client, and asked to be referred, and got more clients.

I am not saying this is the only way to get clients, but it is definitely one of the most successful ways.

Hello @RichardP
Greetings of the day!

I really appreciate your response.

Q: Where are you trying to establish the business - City?  State?

A: We are trying to establish the business in North Carolina and Delaware states (we have an office in these states so we are targeting this first)

Q: What medical experience do you have that would contribute to being a good biller?

A: We have a team with 3 Biller who is expert in Physician billing and have more than 5 years of experience, also we have 15 experience people for AR and Benefits verification, they all have good communication and they all have good 3-4 years of experience with it. The only thing that we can contribute to any client that we have in the future is our truthfulness and our commitment to work. This will be the new venture for us, but we have other service-providing businesses in which we are doing great.

Hello @kristin
Greetings of the day!

I really appreciate your advice.

I know that this question asked much time, and I have read a few previous posts as well, and I am going to continue to read all of them.
with previous notes, I have found the different ways of marketing which I have used but yet there is no luck. So I thought why don't I ask this question one more time, as a wise man says “The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life.”

We are offering all the RCM services, like Benefits verification, Authorization, Billing and posting (Manual & ERA), AR for denials (with an appeal if essential), Patients statement, Credentials. We are doing work not based on the percentage, we are trying to do it with an hourly rate.

You mentioned that if hypothetically you are looking for billing services you prefer to look by yourself. So is there any portal or a plate form that doctors are using to locate a billing company? Or is there any website or plate form that I need to register our company for this?

I haven't tried to get a referral from anyone. I will try to get one for this.

I do have one more question that is there any lead generation company that can provide potential leads of the healthcare and medical professional who are looking for Medical Billing services?
