Hello

we have just started the Medical Billing company, and one of my friend have a contact in Canada with some doctors, and they are ready to have a meeting with me on next Monday, but I do not have any past experience in Canadian Medical Billing. I don't know to whom I can ask regards to this, so I am asking you guys.

Does anyone can help me to understand about the Canadian Billing system, or is there any book / website that I can refer to understand it.I even don't know the insurance they have in Canada lol.

Or is there any firm who can help us out.

Any advice is appreciated

Thanks & Regards
Shubham P.

The internet says that each Canadian Province has its own coding system.  Find out what Province your interview is in.  Then look through the following matieral for general information.  You will probably have to be certified to work in Canada - although you don't say if the Canadian doctors will mail the work to you here in the States.

Canada has a decentralized, universal, publicly funded health system called Canadian Medicare. Health care is funded and administered primarily by the country’s 13 provinces and territories. Each has its own insurance plan, and each receives cash assistance from the federal government on a per-capita basis. Benefits and delivery approaches vary. All citizens and permanent residents, however, receive medically necessary hospital and physician services free at the point of use. To pay for excluded services, including outpatient prescription drugs and dental care, provinces and territories provide some coverage for targeted groups. In addition, about two-thirds of Canadians have private insurance.
