Medicare Help

Hello,
I have been doing medical billing only since 2018, so I am relatively new.  Just recently contracted to send Medicare claims EDI.  Now I am getting my claims rejected saying I need a referring/ ordering physician.  The practice is a family facility and never needed this before .  I know you need a physician for ordering certain equipment.  I cannot get any help from medicare.  Help .    Barbara

Every Claim requires referring / ordering practitioner, who is providing the services.

Actually all services do not require referring/ordering providers.  However some services do, such as EKGs and other testing.  In the case you describe, the rendering provider is also the referring provider since he/she decided to perform the test, they both ordered the test, and rendered the service.  So you would put in the rendering provider as the ordering/referring provider.
