What kind of main character instantly makes you want to give a book a real chance? The type that makes you think, “Okay, this is going to be interesting, I’m definitely reading this”?

For me, it’s less about the plot and more about the vibe of the main character. If the MC feels calm, controlled, and a little dangerous—someone who thinks before acting and clearly has layers - I’m in. That kind of character makes the story feel intentional, like everything is happening for a reason. But reading through other opinions really shows how subjective this is. Some people need warmth and humor, others want strength or emotional vulnerability. It’s interesting how one well-written MC can completely decide whether a book works or not.
