I've had my Discovery Sport for about three years now and honestly it's been a dream to drive, until about two weeks ago when I started noticing this really annoying pulsation through the brake pedal whenever I'm slowing down from highway speeds. It's not constant, like if I'm just crawling through traffic it feels perfectly normal, but the moment I hit 80 or 90 and need to brake for a junction or a roundabout, the pedal starts vibrating under my foot and it's honestly a bit unsettling. I've done some reading online and it sounds like classic warped rotors, which apparently is pretty common on heavier SUVs like mine, especially with the kind of stop-start driving we do around here. The thing is, I've never had to deal with brake issues on a Land Rover before and I'm not sure whether I should just replace the pads and rotors or if there's something else causing the problem that I need to look into. I called the dealership just to get a rough idea of cost and I nearly fell off my chair when they told me the price, so I'm definitely looking for an independent specialist who knows these cars inside out.
