Practices involved with large hospital networks

(1/2) > >>

rachel:
A drug rep I know advised that trying to get billing from practices that are associated with large networks (ie Novant ect) is a waste of time since they have onstaff billers and protocals in place...is this true?  It seems like that would blow out a large amount of practices!?

does anyone have any experiance with this?  Is this even a true statement?

PMRNC:
Yes it can be true, but it could also be true of a good running SMALL practice as well. You can have a large practice, fully staffed or with a management company that does NOT need to outsource nor would it be beneficial, however you will also have some good SMALL solo practices with a good staff and/or one biller doing a fine job that doesn't need to outsource. It's a numbers game, just like any other business. I can tell you that for every practice that does NOT need help there are 5 more that do. When you are marketing it's best to stay away from the negative and remain positive and confident. Yes you will probably hear more No's than yes's until you get your feet wet, but perseverance is key!

Pay_My_Claims:
So true. I just got a call yesterday from a DME company that doesn't have a biller. This will be their first experience with a billing company. It's a mom & pop shop which is good and bad. It is hit or miss. I have kept a log of all my no's and I will email them after 6 months to see how things are progressing This is how I got my first client. He didn't want to outsource, but he remembered me when I contacted him, and asked for my help. Clean-up lead to a permanent thing.

rachel:
Thanks guys, I look forward to your responses, its seems alot of knowledge is available if you just ask!!!!  I do agree it is all a numbers game, and I think I have been fairly lucky, with less than 200 calls I picked up my first two clients and even though they are quite small I am glad I got my feet wet and it has motivated me to continue!

And that is exactly how it's done!! Way to go!  I just started marketing again myself at the end of April and I just signed my 4th (and last) client for now.
