anesthesia billing

How do you bill (crna) anesthesia for 2 codes, example the surgeon does a 65772 and a 66984 which we bill a 00140 and 00142. Do I just bill the 00140 or can I add the 51 modifier to show there were 2 procedures done? Also how do I add the units? Do I just imput for the 00140 base units only plus the time units? We haven't been billing long for these and this is the first one I have with 2 codes.
Thank you,
Julie

Hi Julie,
You should bill both codes, with the major procedure first, then the 2nd procedure with the 51 modifier. They may not allow them both, but you should still bill them both. I would input the base units and time units for both codes.
