question about combining billing

I am a mental health provider and currently bill using a mental health software.  I am going to hire a general practice nurse practitioner as an employee.  I cannot become a provider for Medicare because my LPCC license is not recognized by Medicare.  Since I cannot become a credentialed provider, must I bill under the nurse practitioners NPI # for billing and rendering individual?  I am planning on using a medical billing service.  I am also hiring two part-time LCSW's to work in local nursing homes.  The same question applies for them and billing Medicare.  How can I do this?

If you are billing under a group name and tax ID#, and then going to bill for the NP & LCSW's under that tax ID# then you individually cannot become credentialed with Medicare, but it sounds like you need to as a group provider.  Then you would credential the NP and the LCSW's individually but reassign their benefits to your group.  If they are already credentialed with Medicare you would just need to reassign their benefits to your group.

(Your credentials don't matter for credentialing as a group, you are the owner, but you will have a recognized provider under your group, and that is what matters.)
