DO THE INSURANCE COMPANIES USUALLY PAY FOR THE SUB HOS VISIT LEVEL 1 AND THE DISCHARGE SEPARTE OR ARE THEY COMBINED IN THE DELIVERY OF A BABY

If you are saying that the sub hospital visit level 1 and discharge are on the same date, then you can bill them separately if the visit was separate from the discharge, using a 59 modifier on the sub hospital visit code.  Not all insurances will allow them separate, but some will.
