Michele,

I would like to ask one more question:

The following carriers are considered MEDIGAP plans which are in place of Medicare Part B:
 
1.) UHC (Health Net; UHC etc.)
2.) Evercare (Humana etc.)
3.) Secure Horizons
4.) AARP
5.) Medicare Complete
6.) HMSA65C+
7.) Alohacare Advantage 

So we always bill MED as 1', then we can  bill those carriers above, is that right?

Michele:
Medigap means Medicare supplemental plan which means they pay AFTER Medicare (not in place of Medicare).  A Medicare Managed Care Plan takes the place of Medicare.  On your list you have some Medigap plans listed and some Medicare Managed Care Plans.

If it is Medigap, you bill Medicare 1st then the Medigap.

If it is a Medicare Managed Care Plan then you don't bill Medicare at all, you bill the Managed Care Plan.
