MBP:
do you need backups when you work with web based software? i thought i would print reports weekly for my records instead of spreadsheets (i like them but they are just too time consuming to maintain). do i need to figure out how to back up my information when working with web based sw, in my case office ally? i just keep wondering, why do i need to keep a hard copy of anything that goes into my PM? of course i know why is it important to keep eobs and superbills.. but printing claims or doing all this filing work when it is all in the computer..  ???

Pay_My_Claims:
Linda is anal retentive like me.........backs up everything!!

PMRNC:
Hmm not sure what you mean but backups and spread sheets are different things. If I am working on follow-up I use an outstanding claim report, my providers receive monthly reports and for the ones I have in my web based software (or theirs) they can login and view anytime. Backups vary by vendor but you should find out backup procedures. Some will even sell offsite storage. When I give my monthly reports out I store copies (PDF) in each clients folder on my PC. I really don't use anymore paper than is necessary.

PMRNC:
Absolutely backup .. :)   I spend an hour a day doing incremental and then I do monthly as well, I also have external hard drive in case my computer dies and I have an off site secure storage and a secure server as well....But why am I like this.. Why of course I learned the hard way.. a few times over.. NEVER get caught with your pants down. Unfortunately most people have to learn that way :(

MBP:
so you back up everything even with web based software? how often?
