What kind of reports do you print for the doctors. what is standard? I am so aggravated. I am trying to print reports of charges for each day for all the pts seen. , lets say 11/01, 11/02, 11/03 on the same claim (hospital visit) , the report is only showing day 11/01. So when i print a report for 11/02 , it looks like nothing was entered for the pt. This is mpm soft and this is definately an issue for me... Any suggestions?

I don't know that software however a report like that will depend on whether you are running it on ENTRY or Charge date. Usually in most softwares I've used you can choose. For example, If I entered claims for 11/1/09 on 11/2/09, I would run my report for charges ENTERED on 11/2/09  OR Dates of service 11/1/09.  I could do either.  PM software should have this option due to audit trails.

Linda is so right on this one....

Sherry, i understand your frustration, because i bill for a surgeon, when she has a pt in the hospital, i enter several days in one claim and on reports it only shows the first day, b/c the range of dates while the pt is in the hospital was put in to one visit. i use office ally and unfortunatelly it will not allow me to get reports showing each day of the range, only the initial one and total charges as they were on the claim. if you have to, you may need to enter each day of a hospital stay in a new visit to get it on the report... or explain to your provider that report is showing total charge on the initial day and it is not broken down to each day spent in the hospital.. maybe there are softwares out there that will allow you to see different dates of one visit (claim), if you find it, let me know!!

PMRNC:
IMO that is necessary to have. What if the client wants a daily log of claims for a particular day vs. a daily log of claims ENTERED in the day (measure performance) ? Not to mention this is an important part of audit trail. Your PM software should have the capability of differentiating date entered and date of service both. Same goes with payments, you should be able to see a report of payments entered and dates of actual payments, and of course this is gong to be dependent on how you setup your database in the first place.
