(1/2) > >>

Migualla:
Does anyone have Cahaba.  I just started with a new job and their medicare is managed by Cahaba.. I am finding it somewhat difficult to understand.  Any help or suggestions?

CLAUDIA:
I am in Atlanta, and CAHABA is our Medicare Contractor.  I thought all Govt. type entities were confusing?  ??? You have to call and talk to the right person for the right answers.  I find them somewhat eager to help you.

Migualla:
I think my biggest thing is that some claims crossover to secondaries and some dont??  What is up with that???  I come from the WPS world and they were a dream to work with, atleast for me..

CLAUDIA:
If they don't know about the secondaries, they can't crossover. We have some that automatically crossover, but they have them in their system.

Steve Verno CMBS, CEMCS:
My boss and instructor once told me, dont believe anything the insurance compny tells you

When we looked at the remittance, I would call the insurance companies that had the claim crossed over or sent to the secondary.  The usual response 100% of the time was , we're sorry, the claim is not on file.  So,we sent all secondaries ourselves.  If there was more than 1 claim, they went certified mail/return receipt.  Even doing that caused, we're sorry, the claim is not on file.  That didnt matter, we had the certified mail/receipt to send to the regulatory authorities which slowed the NOF excuse.
