Meetings with clients
DavidZ:
It's just I took over this solo practice, and the provider doesn't trust and had bad experiences and wants to meet 2 times a month and these meetings are 3 plus hrs, because this provider doesn't do anything fast and is always distracted.
I am thinking of a way to bill for the time I will lose.
By the way, want to wish a Happy and Healthy New Year to All!

Well, in that case, it should get better as he learns to trust you, but I would schedule the meeting and tell him that you only have until x:xx o'clock. Be organized with your info, keep him on track, cover what you need to and leave. Explain that you don't normally meet with clients this often and you will initially to get things going, but once on a smooth track the meetings will have to decrease a little in time. You could also explain that you need to be working on his stuff, not talking about it, and you don't want to take away from the time you spend on his account.
Good luck, but personally, it sounds like his bad experiences may have been more on his end!

Personally I would take that not to mean just that he doesn't trust you, but that he cares and is hands on with his practice. With some of my clients I have to pull teeth to schedule these sit downs because In my opinion I think they are good for everyone involved and it helps me help them. I'd actually like to meet with mine more often. You could negotiate travel expenses since he's the one that wants the meetings.

My SC provider is footing my costs, so it works out for me. Hopefully I don't have to make too many trips though.
