billing secondary insurances

Absolutely bill the secondary. There are instances where the secondary pays more than the primary, so the doctor's reduction is less.
I also agree that if you're contracted with the secondary insurance company you MUST bill the secondary!
We are here to serve the doctors so that they are paid appropriately, but also to serve the patient so they get all the benefit they've paid for!

I agree with everyone here. You definately should do it across the board if you decide not to bill the 2nd but more importantly I don't think anyone should not bill the 2nd for the reasons already stated: You should capture every dollar possible for the Doctor and lower any costs the patient should have to pay especially since that is due them, and provide the service you agreed to in the first place. Anything less I think you are not standing up to your part of the agreement. (not to mention you could be going against your contract with the carrier if you don't bill the 2nd).
