Can you collect a medicare copay before billing medicare for the service, or do you bill medicare, get paid, then bill the copay to the patient.

You can do it either way. If you know FOR SURE that they have no secondary or supplemental and if you know EXACTLY what the co-pay is for services performed, most patients will pay at time of service to avoid getting a bill.
With chiropractic it's $4.96 (Adjust 1-2 areas) or $6.88 (Adjust 3-4 areas). So for us it's simple to calculate.
