I have a claim of which consist of 16 units for the cpt code 88305. Medicare is denying this claim stating the number of units of service exceeds our acceptable maximum. I knew they werent going to pay for all of the units, however I at least thought they would pay the units they allowed. Is there anyway I can get them to do this?

I would call Medicare and ask them. If they cannot help, then I would bill two separate lines, the first with the allowable number of units, and the rest on the second line with a 59 modifier.
