Payments > Patient Billing

out of network

(1/1)

wharta:
We had a claim that was denied by united due to the provider being out of network. Can we bill the patient?

Yesica:
We our not contracted with United and we bill patient, did you notify patient prior to visit that the doctor was not in network.

Pay_My_Claims:
regardless of them notifying the client, if it denied as OON, pat responsibility, the patient can be billed. providers are NOT obligated to tell a patient they are non par with their insurance, but it is to the providers best interest to do so, collect up front and bill non-assigned for possible reimbursement to the patient.

wharta:
Thanks, i thought we would be able to bill the patient, I knew you would know pay my claims!!!!!!
