Yearly exams with new ins

Does anyone know what the rule is when a patient has gotten new insurance and wants to come in for their yearly exam early.  For example, they had their yearly gyn exam 6/14/09 and they want to come in 6/7/10.  Would their new insurance cover this exam, or would they reject it stating it was too early for them to have another gyn exam? 

Michele:
Only way to be sure is to call the new insurance and ask if they are eligible for a yearly exam.
