jcbilling:
Good Afternoon,

I have a client that has moved their main office. So I am completing the 855B to update the address. However, the NPI record still reflects the old address. Does that need to be changed prior to Medicare receiving the 855B application?

Thanks,
Charity

PMRNC:
Yes you have to have all of them match exactly as well as with the IRS record!

Michele:
All you have to do is log in to NPI and you can easily update the address.

I have been involved with a Medicare nightmare since May 2010, and part of it was to do with address change. We had changed address on NPI website, also NPPES website (I think that's what it's called). Then Medicare sent something to a 15 yr old address that, of course, came back and said my provider client needed to fill out 855I to revalidate.
This is only a part of the nightmare, but my point is, changing address on NPI website does not count, according to Medicare. They said provider was responsible to know this from pg. who knows what of the Provider Integrity Manual. She's been a MC provider since 1995. How many providers would know this?

PMRNC:
All providers should as there were mandatory courses offered on provider integrity!
