Practice wants us to use their PM Software Remotely (Medisoft)
jcbilling:
Truthfully, I have found that has an experienced biller you can figure out just about any software pretty quickly if you know the flow of the claim cycle. Yes - they're all different, but the process is still the same. So as long as you let your prospective client know upfront that you require software support, you shouldn't have a problem. If they ask if you have worked on their software, BE HONEST, but follow up with the fact that as an experienced biller you have the resources to learn their software quickly and get the job done. So far, I've never had them not sign a contract for that reason. Usually, on the initial meeting I have them show me around their software briefly and show me some of the reports they are used to looking at. As soon as I get call from a prospective client that asks for this setup, I contact the software vendor and request a demo CD. So by the time I give them a proposal or contract, I've already played around in the software. NOwadays, a lot of the software vendors have tutorials and snapshots on their website.
PMRNC:
I've always been honest with them.. I have worked on my software's but there are a couple I truly prefer never to work on and Medisoft is one of them. But I agree with JC, if you are experienced you can pretty much figure out any PM software.
I do include provider's responsibility to maintain technical support and enable me to have access to that support should I need it.
Michele:
I agree with JC & Linda, once experienced, the software is just like driving a different car. Takes a few minutes to find the headlights and windshield wipers, but after that - you're cruisin'. ;D

Linda, I'm just curious, why not Medisoft? I think it's fairly easy to use. The only drawback I see is that they don't have a good selection of reports (I have haven't mastered report designer..... at all....). I do only bill for one provider, though. Would love to hear your feedback, since I'm getting tired of constantly having to update, have toyed with the idea of switching.
