My question is about Co treatment with a physical therapist and occupational therapist. Total treatment time is 1 hour (4 units). Can you bill for the physical therapist for 1 hour (4 units) and the occupational therapist for 1 hour (4 units)? Or do you bill each for 30 min of therapy (2 units for each therapist)?

How much time was spent with the PT doing PT and how much time was spent with the OT doing OT?  I don't mean to make it sound silly, it's just that you would bill the codes and units for the time and services done by the PT, and the same for the OT.  I don't believe it's possible for the patient to be seen by both at the same time.  (I know they are seen at the same visit, but they can't be doing a PT service and an OT service at the exact same time.)
