Medical Billing in another State

<< < (2/2)

QueenAlicia:
You know that some people still bill as % in some states that consider it fee splitting.  I don't know how they are not aware of this but I get the impression either they don't care of that they do WHATEVER the doctor/provider wants. I read posts on Linked In and the people who know of fee splitting speak up and say "hey your state considers this illegal" and they continue to do it. SMH shame

The sadder part is they think they are doing it FOR the provider. the state says nothing about the billing company can't charge a percentage, the law says the PROVIDER cannot enter into a fee-splitting arrangement. It's the provider's Neck on the line and the billing company's contract isn't worth the paper it's typed on in court. I don't get it either..

Ammedbill, do you get an answer about the license requirements in Florida? I was looking at doing billing in Florida and just wanted to know if you got an answer and can share it.
