Registering to bill a provider in a different state

(1/1)

asilva03:
I wanted to bill for providers outside of the state I am currently billing in and wanted to know if I have to register my business in each of those states that I get those providers and is anything else required?

Thanks.

Aleshia

Michele:
You need to check with each state.  Most do not require any form of registration but NJ does.  They are the only one I'm aware of.

asilva03:
Thanks Michele.

PMRNC:
you will also need to familiarize yourself with both the state you are in and the state you will be billing for as you will need to follow both. For example, if you have your office in CT but bill for a doctor in NJ you must file NJ State Registration paperwork.   If you live in NJ and you plan to work with physicians in NY, you will not be able to bill your services based on a percentage of collections.
