Same patient have seen for office and hospital

Hi,

Doctor has already seen patient in the office and had an initial consultation. Now he has seen the same patient in the hospital for the same condition.

I think new consultation code should be billed for Hospital.

Please help me. Am i correct?

If it's the same patient for the same condition I wouldn't think a new consultation code would be appropriate.   JMO

my guess would be that if he is the attending and admitting doctor, then it just the normal hosp visit codes. not a  new consultation. since its an ongoing patient.
