--- Quote ---Thanks Ladies, for your opinion and quick response. You know after i read your responses I quickly remember, how I had a co-worker key word Had that was allowed to work from home, and to make a long story short, when the company had to downsize and lay off she was in the group to be laid off. Well, when she had to returns all equipment, claims ect. It was quickly realized that she was doing a whole lot of nothing, and that was why she didn't meet the estab goals each month. One of my close friends had the honor of cleaning of what a mess and had to try to correct the bad a/r and get the billing going correctly. It was a nightmare for her, but ok... yes thank you.

And just imagine, since they found out she was doing a whole Lotta nothing, who's to say she wasn't doing a "whole lotta illegal things" as well. Point being.. don't know because your not there. Not saying you can't trust people, just saying you have to protect your business FIRST and not even get into a situation where this could potentially bite you in the rear.

That is such a shame for people, Like myself, who would really love an opportunity like that, that is hard working and honest, and Compliant to all the rules...I think it could work if you just found the right person. GOOD LUCK

It's not just finding right person, many don't understand that in addition to ensuring compliance, there are also the issues of increased insurance on the employer (billing company) It's already bad enough most third party billing companies don't carry proper insurance, add the liability of a 4th party (off site employee/contractor) and the premium's rise. Then again, there's all the issue of your clients and how they would view an off site employee when they are already taking a leap with a 3rd party.

Maybe it's just the providers that we work with, but they actually like the fact that we are all women working from our home offices. It has been a selling point for us.

I see your point...my meaning of the comment, was not to come on as an Independant contractor but an offsite employee...But i see what you are saying about the third and fourth party and the liability. What kind of insurance would you recommend carrying?
