Is there a requirement that UB 04 be billed electronic? If not, does anyone know if this will be mandated in the future?
Do you know of any reason why we can't continue to bill UB on paper?

Some insurance carriers require that the UB04's be filed electronically, but it depends on the carrier.  They usually have some exceptions that allow you to continue with paper billing, such as if you file under a certain number of claims in a month, or if you have under a certain number of employees.

I'm not aware of any future mandate coming up.  It seems to be up to the individual insurance carriers at this time.
