How many times per week can I bill for 90853 (psych)

Hello,

Does anyone know how many times per week a provider can bill the Psy Group code 90853 to Medicare? I was under the understanding that it was up to 5 times per week.

Doesn't it depend on the authorization for the patient?

you can bill medicare once a day.   if they flag it, you may have to send in a medical necessity letter.   with medicare,  you dont need authorizations for mental health.
