As I stated, the first thing you need to do is to call the provider. There may have been a mistake in the processing of your claim that may have to be corrected. Again, if you asked them if they accepted your insurance that is different then asking if they participate with your insurance. Personally, I believe that if a person inquires if a provider accepts their insurance and that provider is out of network then they should advise the patient of that before they are seen, however not all providers offices do that. BUT until you call to find out if it was a mistake the rest of that is mute. You really need to call and speak to the provider's office before you can go any further.
